Who: Anyone ages 18-35!

Join us for the 2019 Byzantine Catholic Young Adult Convocation: Called. Transfigured. Sent. from August 1-4, 2019 in NYC!

This four-day convocation will include celebrations of the Divine Liturgy, talks by inspiring Catholic speakers, opportunities for fellowship, sightseeing in New York City, and more! Together, we’ll explore what discipleship means in the modern world through the lens of the Transfiguration and go forth feeling “transfigured” in our own faith. Open to all – you do not have to be Catholic to attend!

Accommodations: We have made housing arrangements for discounted accommodations with Freehand Hotel in NYC, which is a fifteen minute walk from St. Mary’s. Meet our keynote speakers:

Father Boniface Patrick Hicks, OSB

Fr. Boniface is a Benedictine monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey and a Catholic priest. He is also the General Manager, Programming Manager and an On Air Host of We Are One Body® Catholic radio (WAOB®). He also co-authored a book with Fr. Thomas Acklin, OSB called Spiritual Direction: A Guide for Sharing the Father’s Love.  More information about Fr. Mother Gabriella, Sisters of Christ the Bridegroom Monastery
Mother Gabriella is a stavrophore nun of Christ the Bridegroom Monastery in Burton, Ohio.  She joined the monastery in 2011 and made her life profession in 2015. An Ohio native, Mother Gabriella was born, raised and educated in Akron.  Prior to entering, she earned a degree in Accounting from The University of Akron and worked for a mid-sized accounting firm, living the dangerous life of senior tax associate.  Despite her status as an only child, she enjoys community life, and serves her community in many capacities, but especially as economos (treasurer). Her claim to fame is co-hosting the online cooking show Eastern Hospitality, a project aimed at helping people to incorporate Eastern fasting traditions into their everyday lives.  More information about Mother Gabriella and the Sisters of Christ the Bridegroom can be found at http://www.christthebridegroom.org
Nick Redd

Nick Redd serves full-time as The Mission Director for Young Adult Outreach with Saint Paul’s Outreach; a college and young adult ministry whose mission is to build transformational communities that form missionary disciples for life. Nick is passionate about waking people up the fullness of the gospel message; that the abundant life available in Jesus Christ is real, and it changes everything. His mission is a response to the one prayer that Jesus taught us: to bring The Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. Since graduating college in 2010 Nick has dedicated his life to spreading The Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ to youth and young adults throughout the country.
